The interactive video and light installation made especially for the Art Capital 2018 – Hungary’s largest fine art festival in Szentendre, connected to the main theme of the festival, organized by the main curator Gábor GULYÁS, in the title: ”IN PURSUIT OF EDEN”. Exhibited in the Ámos Imre-Anna Margit Museum, together with the artist Klára Petra Szabó, organised by the curator Noémi SZABÓ.

“The exhibition draws parallels between gardening and artistic creation, considering the two as forms of retreat or escape—but certainly as something that facilitates freedom. The artificially created reality of the garden is in fact the most ancient way of life: the cyclicity of its flourishing and decay is a symbol of man’s life and artistic-creative nature, as is the fact that it is cultivated and does not burgeon freely like nature.” Noémi SZABÓ

The infinite palm installation: PSEUDO GARDEN (2018) recall an idyllic, Eden like dreamed place. Real plans and digital images merge together in a video feedback loop effect, to create this illusion. In this way the work is both real and artificial. While “Since the ancient cultures of the East, each great historical age had its characteristic garden. Modernity, it appears, is the first era that is without its own distinctive garden-type.” Furthermore, the contemporary man often lives without garden, only the houseplants and balconies – as pseudo gardens – replace the real nature. The installation therefore introduces the relationship of the modern man with the nature, since „ A garden will say a lot about how its designers and upkeepers relate to the universe, as attested to by the microcosms of Chines and Japanese gardens, the Arab gardens divided into eight parts in accordance with the sectioning of the Koran, the French gardens formed on the dictates of optical principles, and bythose English gardens with their irregularly shaped labyrinths connected to enormous green lawns.” Gábor GULYÁS: Art Capital 2018 main concept

Az interaktív videó - fény installáció kifejezetten az Art Capital’18 Szentendre (2018. június 9 - szeptember 2.) –művészeti fesztiválra készült, kapcsolódva a rendezvény kertre fókuszáló, Gulyás Gábor főkurátori tematikájához.: “Az Édenkert nyomában” Az Ámos Imre-Anna Margit Múzeumban bemutatott kiállítás Szabó Klára Petra képzőművésszel közösen, Szabó Noémi kurátor szervezésében valósult meg.

„A kiállítás a kerti munka és a művészi alkotás párhuzamba állításával foglalkozik, e két tevékenységet egyfajta visszavonulásként, vagy elmenekülésként, de mindenképp a szabadság zálogaként definiálva. a kert mesterségesen létrehozott valósága valójában a legősibb életmetafora: kibomlásának és elhervadásának ciklikussága, a természet burjánzásával szemben álló megműveltsége magának az emberi létezésnek és az ember művész-alkotó természetének szimbóluma.” Szabó Noémi

A végtelenített pálmafás installáció: PSEUDO KERT (2018) egy idilli – paradicsomi – helyet illusztrál, mintegy az elvágyódás helyét. Mindezt a valódi élő növény, és annak digitális sokszorosításának illúziójával jeleníti meg. A ritmusosan ismétlődő pálmasor egyszerre természetes, és mesterséges. Míg „Az ókori keleti kultúrák óta minden nagy történelmi korszaknak megvolt a maga kerttípusa, alighanem a modernitás az első olyan kor, amelyhez nem társítható karakteres kert.” Ráadásul a mai ember legtöbbször kert nélkül él, és már csak a szobanövények, vagy az erkélyeken berendezett pseudo kertek helyettesítik számára a természetet. Így az installáció a modern ember természethez való viszonyát is bemutatja, hiszen „A kert sokat elmond arról, hogy tervezői, művelői miképpen viszonyulnak a világ­mindenséghez. A kínai és a Japán kert mikrokozmosza, a Korán tagolása nyomán nyolc részre osztott arab kertek, az optikai elvek szerint szerveződő francia kertek vagy éppen az angol kertek hatalmas pázsitokhoz kapcsolódó szabálytalan formájú labirintusai mind-mind erről a viszonyról tanúskodnak.” Gulyás Gábor: Art Capital 2018 koncepció
