We had been working and
living under
complete silence during one month. We
invited the community of Järfälla
into the performance. Everybody
was able to join us and spend time with us in a
creative process but inside the house
nobody allow to speak.
Kalejdohill is an ongoing experiment into the making of place.
Commissioned to Urban Sociologist Mia Lundstrom by HSB Norra Stor-Stockholm,
Veidekke and Einar Mattson housing cooperatives, Kalejdohill is a research
on how to involve the community of Jarfalla into the decision making for a new
development in the area of Kvarnbacken. Kalejdohill closely collaborates with
the municipality of Järfälla on a dual strategy of
site specific interventions combined with knowledge production on the making of
cities and public spaces.
The House of Silent collaboration project
created for Kalejdohill, as part as the
Inhabitant Zero Residency Program. Together
we
designed a practice of silence, for the locals and for ourselves. Our
project proposed to collectively exercise silence and meditation
practices in order to create new bonds among the participants, but also among
the place and its future.
With the visitors - during workshops - we developed a
large scale map of the neighbourhood. We choose embroidering as a meditational
technique for our project. The idea
of the project was to discover the active togetherness. By not talking, we
listen more actively, and without speech we do instead of asking.
The community developed installation accompanied with
an audio recording, proving the practice of silently active togetherness. The recorder [ZOOM]
is capturing sound sources in the centre with clarity and with a full 360°
stereo. The audio played during the exhibition introducing the sounds of the
house to evoke an acute awareness of the surrounding space.
The House of Silent
project is cooperation with Klára Petra Szabó, who is - in general - interested in the
human body - a superficial indicator - that simultaneously talks about identity,
social status and cultural situation. She usually focuses to the relationship
between personal identity and self-representation. This even reveals her own
body and existence as a meaningful object in her works in a self-examining
manner.

A Csendes Ház című együttműködéses
project Kalejdohillben valósult meg, az Inhabitant Zero Rezidencia
Program keretében. Projektünk - a csendes
együttlét gyakorlására épülve - egy terápiaszerű közös alkotásra hívta Järfälla lakóit,
hogy új kapcsolatokat hozzon létre a résztvevők között, miközben a városrész jövőjével foglalkoznak.
Az egy hónap alatt
teljes csöndben (beszéd nélkül) élünk, és alkotunk a rezidencia program házában,
miközben Järfälla lakói
csatlakozhatnak hozzánk az alkotói folyamatba, azzal a kikötéssel, hogy a házon
belül senki sem beszélhet.
A látogatókkal
együtt - workshopok keretében - egy nagyméretű térképet készítünk Jakobsbergről. A munkához a hímzés technikája volt a
legideálisabb, mint meditatív tevékenység. Az alapötlet a
csendes, mégis aktív együttlétben való elmélyülés. Nem beszélve, jobban meghalljuk a külvilágra, és a beszéd
helyett - kérések helyett - cselekednünk kell.
Az együtt töltött
aktív csendet - annak bizonyítékaként - rögzítjük. A speciálisan érzékeny hangrögzítő (ZOOM) a legapróbb - még az emberi fül számára sem
hallható - zörejeket is rögzíti, miközben megőrzi a 360 fokos térbeliséget, mely felvétel a
kiállítás alkalmával vált igazán izgalmassá, megőrizve és bemutatva egy tér hangjait.
A rezidencia programot meghirdető Kalejdohill egy
kutatás része, mely arra irányul, hogy hogyan lehet a közösséget bevonni a
város életébe, döntések hozásába, és a városrész fejlesztésébe. A park - melyben a rezidencia programnak helyet adó sárga
házikó áll - a közösség találkozóhelye szeretne lenni, mielőtt (és miközben) a városrészben a tervek szerint 800 új
lakás épül.
